How I shoot my Instagram photos

It's been quite awhile since I lay things out for my instagram which I always do. I love the process of it. Since I just got back from my Turkey Trip, I got some really awesome Turkish delights, a local told me that the shop I purchased it from supposedly started Turkish delights in Turkey. Who knows?

My Turkish delights came in a box, so I put about 5 pieces onto my white plate.

Added a little flora touch to the photo, too many white elements and most of them are all flat. So putting my flower in a glass bottle gives it a little more depth.

And some more flowers with my trusty table cloth from ikea, it comes in a set of 3. And how to enjoy Turkish delights without tea. I used a pretty elegant teacup set from whatever I can find in the kitchen.

Lastly, the book I have been reading lately. Bought this book in Turkey after I finish reading the book, Marching Powder which I bought for Turkey but it was too exciting to put it down, I finished it in a few days.  So I had nothing to read. While we were walking along the streets, I passed by a bookstore... I thought this girl's story is quite interesting and decided to get it.

And this is the overall photo that I took for my post.

Happy Saturday!

Turquoise Hair

Its been 2 weeks + + I've dyed my hair. Initially it was really ultra marine blue but now it has faded to turquoise!! Super loves! I dye 2 colours: Turquoise + Shocking Pink but it seems like it has multiple colors! Like what most of my friends called: Peacock.. The color just drop every single wash.. I guess I would need to touch them up soon... For now.. photos for my memory...
Done by Caely from Shunji Matsuo Hair Salon at 313

And I recently discovered this GIANT mandarin oranges, they are super cute!

Stockholm

Another lovely city for designers! One of the reason that I decided to pick Stockholm was cause of Sandqvist, I love my bag from them! I went to the store and le husband got himself a leather bag from them! Such a beauty! It was snowing when I was there, thank god for such an amazing sight!

We tried...

  • IKEA meatballs from the original IKEA
  • Explored the Zoo (very interesting concept and it was quite low season, the whole place probably have like less than 20 peeps?)
  • Went shopping on the hipster streets
  • Visited Sandqvist twice!
  • Found Stutterheim Raincoats (A shop specialising awesome raincoats! I so want to get one soon!)
  • Tried a garlic restaurant (I had a burger 3/4 of my face only manage to finish 1/2 of it)
  • Went to Hillsong Stockholm (Listened to a swedish sermon)
  • Went to Old Town
  • Had a proper Swedish meal

And I totally love the apartment I'm staying in, super nice!

That's all about Stockholm.

XOXO

Iceland

Out of all the places I have been so far, I love love love Iceland. AND I'm definitely going back! Such a beautiful place though I'm a little disappointed that they killed the sheep for food supply for the year, so when I was there.. there's no roaming sheep to hug. What made this trip even awesome and exciting is that we rented a car! We practically drove through all kinds of weather, a super windy storm that we can feel the car moving even though we stopped the car, gravel roads, drove up a snowy mountain, drove on ice, basically everything! Think my husband is a pro now in driving any climate conditions haha!

We tried...
  • Walking in the city centre
  • Explored Golden circle route (Saw the first and original Geysir in my life)
  • Whale watching (we saw lots White-beaked Dolphins and a Humpback Whale!!!)
  • Explored Reykjanes Peninsula Route
  • Blue Lagoon which made my hair super dry up like grass =.=
  • Eyjafjallajökull the volcano that erupted in 2010
  • Explored up to Vik
  • Ate Whale meat (taste like tuna)
  • Ate Puffin meat (taste like liver)
  • Ate European Shag
  • Leisurely driving up north and got lost
  • Ate all kinds of fish (blue ling / cod / salmon etc freshest fish ever)
  • Ate Icelandic Lamb (its so good)
  • Hunt for Northern lights (Saw a couple of times! So blessed it was the only night in the week that the tour is running other days the sky was all covered by clouds! Thank God!)

Let me show you my sightings for the Northern lights! Although not the dancing type but still!!! I will want to hunt for more in my future trips to anywhere with Northern lights.

It finally snowed on the last day! Super happy!

Berlin

When I first stepped out of the train into Berlin Hauptbahnhof... Man I'm impressed! It looks massive and clean! Out of all the cities that I been to, Berlin has gave me a "I don't mind staying here to work" feeling. Maybe it could just the street we happen to stay in, it has hipster written all over it. Initially I though Berlin would be just another city that we are going to. However because it feels safer than Prague, we are more adventurous in doing stuff. The husband booked walking tours for the history of Berlin, we walked like 5 hours around the town.. My legs I couldn't feel them anymore... The following day we visited Berlin International Community Church in the morning, Zoo in the noon and Berlin Connect in evening, I must say I feel home if both of us were to work in Berlin that would be the church we go to! Met a couple of awesome peeps from the church, really feels like home waiting for them to pack up the church to go for dinner. We saw china boxes everywhere! The box with a pair of chopsticks and they think asian food is to be served like that if you watch Big Bang theory you will know what I meant. While walking pass all those shops, we were making plans to buy that to just use it for photo op.

We tried...
  • Walking Tour for the history of Berlin pretty much all the sites we needed to see in town (We got a tour guide named Berry)
  • Berlin International Community Church
  • Berlin Connect
  • Zoo
  • Took a train down to Potsdam
  • Tried Berlin McDonalds
  • Tried China Box (It sucks real bad)

Too much walking in this city is making my legs go jelly...

Thats all for Berlin.

And Grats to my little sister for having awesome results for your O lvls!

Dresden

Finally had WIFI to update our Honeymoon trip so far. Dresden is such a clean and small city, I can def say its cleaner than Singapore. Though everything seems to be close during the new year season, we still manage to enjoy the city quite abit. We had an awesome host over at Dresden, his apartment is super cozy.

We tried...
  • To go to the Volkswagen Transparent Factory (However its only resuming business on 20 Jan *sadface*)
  • Went to the Old Town
  • Took a romantic morning stroll in the park
  • Tried a Dresden Pastry
  • My husband's home cooked Brussels sprouts (I love it)
  • Tried Curry & Co with flttz apple (Love the apple soda)

Thats about it for Dresden, since its only a 2 days trip.

Prague

I fell in love with their awesome and yummy pastry : Trdelník and the hubby had the most awesome hotdog bread in his life. That's pretty much our stay in Prague trying to hunt down the awesome pastry and hotdog we tried at the castle stalls elsewhere around Prague, but all were just disappointment.

We tried...
  • Trdelník
  • The best Hotdog at the Castle stall
  • Had an expensive New Year dinner
  • Went around the old town
  • Beef Tartare
  • Old Bohemian Potato Soup
  • Very bad tasting Kebab
  • Watch Hobbit in their Cinema (Thank God its in English!)
  • Went on the castle tour
  • Shopping at Palladium

We been taking the public transport the whole trip cause we got conned by the taxi from the train stations (we were the suckers didnt do our reasearch). Thank God we got to Dresden safely.

God works in everyone his very own special way.

BTW Happy Birthday Mom!

XOXO

Český Krumlov

Just when we thought this place is a small town with not much tourist, boy are we wrong... Every corner we turn into there's an asian couple/group. That aside, the place is quiet and nice. We had an amazing experience dining in a dungeon and awesome food in a tavern.

We tried...

  • Eating in a dungeon
  • Walking around the old town
  • Bear moat at the State Castle Český Krumlov (but they are hibernating =.=)
  • Art gallery in the dungeon of the Castle
  • Lunch at tavern (seriously one of best meals I had so far)
  • Beef Goulash at the Tavern
  • Awesome garlic soup

Then we are now in Prague.

Shall update again when we are in the next location!

XOXO

Salzburg

Before we reach Salzburg, I found out Salz means salt while trying to find out if the bottle of white powder-like thingy in front of me is it safe to put into my vege(during cooking). We spend most of our meals outdoor since we don't have a kitchen to cook.

We tried...
  • Stayed at Hotel Bristol (an old palace converted to a hotel, its really pretty in there except for the squeaking wood sound as we walk along the corridor)
  • Salzburger Nockerln from Cafe Mozart (which taste like crap imo)
  • Augustiner Bier and awesome pork
  • Sound of Music Tour
  • Hehensalzburg Castle Tour (the only reason why I went up there was for the view, per pax 11euro)
  • Apple Strudel at Mondsee
  • Crayfish Salad
  • Chestnut with rum and red wine pear
  • Slacked at Hotel Stein for a pot of tea (Cos we were told we can just go up and grab a few good shots of the city at night, end up having to buy a drink =.=)

The lord has been good! We managed to get on to all the 3 trains to Cesky Crumlov with awesome timings even without reserving seats for it.

Thank God.

Went to church on Sunday #noplaceiratherbe its like second home!

We tried...

  • Sacher Torte Viennese Chocolate Cake
  • Sitting in a horse carriage for 20mins
  • Schnitzel
  • Apple Strudel
  • Apple Punch
  • Erdapfelpuffer Potato Cake
  • Lederknoedelsuppe Liver Dumpling Soup
