Out of all the places I have been so far, I love love love Iceland. AND I'm definitely going back! Such a beautiful place though I'm a little disappointed that they killed the sheep for food supply for the year, so when I was there.. there's no roaming sheep to hug. What made this trip even awesome and exciting is that we rented a car! We practically drove through all kinds of weather, a super windy storm that we can feel the car moving even though we stopped the car, gravel roads, drove up a snowy mountain, drove on ice, basically everything! Think my husband is a pro now in driving any climate conditions haha!
We tried...
- Walking in the city centre
- Explored Golden circle route (Saw the first and original Geysir in my life)
- Whale watching (we saw lots White-beaked Dolphins and a Humpback Whale!!!)
- Explored Reykjanes Peninsula Route
- Blue Lagoon which made my hair super dry up like grass =.=
- Eyjafjallajökull the volcano that erupted in 2010
- Explored up to Vik
- Ate Whale meat (taste like tuna)
- Ate Puffin meat (taste like liver)
- Ate European Shag
- Leisurely driving up north and got lost
- Ate all kinds of fish (blue ling / cod / salmon etc freshest fish ever)
- Ate Icelandic Lamb (its so good)
- Hunt for Northern lights (Saw a couple of times! So blessed it was the only night in the week that the tour is running other days the sky was all covered by clouds! Thank God!)
Let me show you my sightings for the Northern lights! Although not the dancing type but still!!! I will want to hunt for more in my future trips to anywhere with Northern lights.
