Learning Guitar in 2015

Fingers aching as I'm typing this...

Just want to remember today is the day I picked up the guitar and started learning some chords. Fingers are aching, can't even get the G chords right. Well new year, new beginnings and new skill that I want to achieve. 364 days more to learn.
Actually quite impressed by those who know how to play this instrument.


This afternoon went guitar shopping with Debs, but didn't end up buying one. Went home took out the husband's guitar and decided to start learning.

Spoiltbytes' fresh new start

While I was in Turkey, I met this girl called Lynette. And I was just sharing with her about my blog and how it started. When I got back, I thought it's been a while since I did anything to the layout of this blog. I decided to change my header and give it a new look. Something more of my current look of design that I exploring into. I'm starting to appreciate hand writing my types, looking at people's handwriting. Well I just want to note this change so in future if I ever read back my blog posts (I do it quite often to laugh at my english #selfentertainment) I'll know why I change my design.

100 Verses One Heart

After so many months finally, the first set(without box) is ready! Took me more than 2 hours plus to sort out the 100 cards into a stack. I was thinking "wow 100 pieces of artwork" what was I thinking in the first place. I had to lay every single set of artwork according to the sequence on the bed, postcards after postcards so I can get a system going when I do the packing of the set, now my back aches after bending down too much and stretching myself to reach the other end of the bed while standing at the other side. I'm already very long, I think this exercise made me even longer. (I'm sorry my short friends) Thank God it is coming together. Now I'm praying that the boxes will arrive soon so I can actually send out the Kickstarter orders.

Pregnant

Not me but one of my favourite human being is pregnant!!! YES!!! A few more MONTHS TILL I CAN TERRORIZE HER KID.

Parable of the Three Servants

Had a quick lunch, and did some reading on Parable of the Three Servants.

One thing I took away from is this:

“Again, the Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a man going on a long trip. He called together his servants and entrusted his money to them while he was gone. To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

A word for you

In the midst of my worrying about the funding and all, God still managed to speak to me through Chubbs. There are just some days, I'm just too tired to open up the bible, even press that app in my phone. So today was one of those days.

Then as I was telling God to give me a word, something simple for my to digest since I don't want to read my bible. He sent Chubbs as His messenger:

HOPE!
I believe The Lord wants to say to you not to have anxiety for what's to come but to stay hopeful. The same hope you had when you first knew Him, and in the same way you will be bringing more you are about to touch. That he wants to carry the message of HOPE through you! Remember how you have be refined by him, people will see that through you. The impossible made possible through Christ.

Its been quite a tiring week but...

I already have so much stuff planned out to do during my weekends. What about you?

Patience

It's been a week and the funds are moving a little slow. I know that this is when I need to be still and wait upon him. Not to let my humanly emotions get in the way of His plans. Only through my weakness then His glory can shine through the brightest!

Love

Having been through a break and patch relationship in the past... there's one very very important lesson that I took away...

If I had love with just my emotions, I probably wouldn't have married my husband. My mood swings up and down, left and right. I get angry, I don't talk, I get piss, please stay away, I get annoyed, I get violent, I have all these emotions day to day even I don't know when I'm going to get affected by my emotions. They come and go. If my relationship were to depend on that it probably would be been long gone.

It's not just a one way thing. Both of us lived by that.

There are times when the fear of commitment kicks in, fear of losing your alone time, sometimes you can't stand living with each other habits guess what...

Well it's one the best stuff I could advise for relationships.

IT'S FINALLY LIVE!!! OH YEAH!!!!!!!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!

How the project came about?

It's so amazing how God has planned for this project to kick off, I think it kinda of started at the beginning of last year when I decided to do little doodles of the verses that speak to me everyday posting them on my instagram. Then I had people telling me that the verses really speak to them, sometimes it's really what they needed to see, a confirmation. Till one day last year, I felt this heavy heart that hey there's so many designers out there like me, wanting to design with a purpose and for someone you love.

It happened in Nov 2013, when I told Natty about this project I have in my mind about bringing 100 designers from all over the world to come together to design their favorite verses. Then the name "100 Verses" came about. I'm like wow this is probably the most interesting thing I have ever done in my lifetime, not that I'm super old. But working together with the other 99 designers, it seems like a too big a dream to come true, but I believe our God is greater than all things.

So we decided to craft and email to "sell" this idea to the other designers and artists to come on-board. Since my copy partner is on leave in Italy, I manage to get Kyeli my other awesome copywriter friend to help me kinda of fix the wording of the letter that I drafted. From Nov 2013 - Mar 2014, I have sent about 500 over emails to the different designers, even posted a couple of posts on my instagram looking for designers. I've been looking through Pinterest / Instagram / Behance / Dribble all over the social platforms to find the designers. Thank God for who didn't think I'm like a spam, replied and believed in this vision that I had. I did have to face rejection but also made a lot of new friends! To the designers who came along - Thank you!

Half way through the process, my husband was having a conversation with me on this project. He was saying that the name seems quite generic, since all the designers are united as one. How about calling it "100 Verses One Heart" even though we are so far apart, but we are united in Him.

Then looking through Kickstarter, we decided we needed to have a video to better sell this dream. Filmed it in a hot Saturday noon with Natty, but we weren't really very happy with it. For weeks to months we've been trying to correct it. Thank God for Dawn, who helped me to craft a really nice script that encapsulate the whole thought behind the video, that totally nailed it. Also want to thank Roseanne for her beautiful voice as always. Thanks Natty for doing up the video, although you tried to get me jailed for using a branded song, but its ok I still love you. =p Finally after many edits, we are pleased with the video, and I uploaded them on Kickstarter. This is my first time starting a project on Kickstarter, it really easy to use! So to all the creatives out there, if you have any project that needs funding, I strongly recommend using Kickstarter.

So on Feb 24 2014, I sent in the video for approval, before that I had to bugged Jade who is probably busy with her baby (she just gave birth) to help me with the bank details. Really have to thank them to trust their bank account details with me!

Today, it starting to come together so beautifully! Thank God for the people he has placed for this project, and the people around me who has supported me in one way or another :) It has been a long process and the journey has just began...

92. God forgives

100. God will wipe away every tear

He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” 


Never expected this to take more than 18hours to hunt the verses down.

Psalms Project

If you are following me on Instagram, you probably would have that I'm doing this little project of mine, that lead to setting up Actseed. I shall leave that to another time to share. So this is it! As much as I try to do one a day... my little mind is like a bird, I get super excited over other stuff and hope over to it and got back this and that. I manage to do up till Psalms 30. That's def more than a month worth of work.

Birthday Month

I'm so blessed to spend my birthday with so many people =D

My mommy scared she couldnt spend my birthday with me, decided that she should celebrate it early, together with my lil bro and sis. Thanks for your "gifts", the photos you see its from my new lens. THANK YOU VERY MUCH HAHAHA!

Job 23
Then Job spoke again:
“My complaint today is still a bitter one,  
and I try hard not to groan aloud.

If only I knew where to find God,
I would go to his court.

I would lay out my case  
and present my arguments.

Then I would listen to his reply  
and understand what he says to me.

Would he use his great power to argue with me?  

No, he would give me a fair hearing.

Honest people can reason with him,  
so I would be forever acquitted by my judge.

I go east, but he is not there.  
I go west, but I cannot find him.
I do not see him in the north, for he is hidden.  
I look to the south, but he is concealed.

“But he knows where I am going.  
And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.

For I have stayed on God’s paths;  
I have followed his ways and not turned aside.

I have not departed from his commands,
but have treasured his words more than daily food.

But once he has made his decision, who can change his mind?  

Whatever he wants to do, he does.

So he will do to me whatever he has planned.  
He controls my destiny.
No wonder I am so terrified in his presence.  
When I think of it, terror grips me.

God has made me sick at heart;  
the Almighty has terrified me.

Darkness is all around me;  
thick, impenetrable darkness is everywhere.
